New Museum Hosts Post Cards to Arizona

Must Read

Artists Benj Gerdes and Jennifer Hayshida are continuing their “Postcards to AZ” project at the New Museum today.  Per their Facebook page, NuMu invites you to stop by the lobby and “write a postcard to our neighbors in AZ affected by the implementation of SB 1070.” Completed postcards will be sent to a network of community-based organizations in Arizona. The project was among the activities at The New Muesum’s Block Party 2010, this past weekend. They write, “…collaborators Benj Gerdes and Jennifer Hayshida have created postcards depicting several historic sites of immigrant protest and resistance in New York City’s Lower East Side. Selected quotations from the law, scheduled to go into effect on July 29, as well as copies of SB 1070 translated into Chinese and Spanish will be available so New York visitors can learn more about it and consider its implications.” The museum is open until 9p this evening. 235 Bowery.
