Girls Club Hosts Fence Painting Party and Fundraiser

Must Read

The Lower East Side Girls Club is inviting the neighborhood to stop by and enjoy a summer cocktail tonight at Marfa (101 E. 2nd St.). You can also meet the lovely ladies/street artists who are going to be “beautifying” the fence around the construction on their new building on Avenue D.  They write: Tonight’s fundraiser is for our Fence Painting Project.  We recently broke ground on our new building on Avenue D – a capital project 10 years in the making!  We wanted to  do something really nice for the community so we decided to paint the fence surrounding the property.  We have commissioned some amazing female artists to paint with us, and tonight is a chance for our volunteers and friends / family to meet the artists, as well as the girls club staff and members, and to raise a little $$.  There will be a raffle that includes original works of art by Nicolina Johnson and TOOFLY, as well as a one year membership to the New Museum.  We’ll also be having the bartenders at Marfa whip up a special “painters punch”.  The donations are sliding scale so no amount is too small. 6 – 8pm.
