The Hester Street Fair is now a month-old. They’ll be celebrating tomorrow with an official opening ceremony, featuring State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, U.S. Rep. Carolyn Maloney, along with many other officials and neighborhood leaders.
The celebration is being planned by the Seward Park Co-op, which owns the courtyard where the fair is held. There will be a ribbon cutting at 12:15 and a cake cutting at 12:20. Silver, Maloney, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Councilmember Margaret Chin and State Senator Daniel Squadron will say a few words. Some original Seward Park residents, who remember the good ol’ days on Hester Street, will also be on hand.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
