The Hester Street Collaborative is gearing up for “It’s My Park Day” on Saturday. They sent along the following details:
On Saturday HSC will join organizations all across the city to host an “It’s My Park! Day” on the Allen & Pike Street Pedestrian Malls. It’s My Park! Day is a citywide effort to care for and celebrate New York City’s parks coordinated by Partnerships for Parks. HSC’s partners at Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE) and the UNRAP Coalition will join us for a fun, engaging, and productive day on the Malls, which are undergoing significant renovation and revitalization (all based on community input) by the NYC Parks Department and the NYC Department of Transportation.
On It’s My Park! Day, community members from all walks of life can join HSC and our partners to clean and beautify this important neighborhood park. Activities will include flower planting, “seed bomb” creation, cleaning and maintaining park elements, and helping to create and install the first phase of a temporary art and wayfinding installation on the Malls with a team of local artists and youth.
