The Grand Street Settlement is looking for a few good men and women for its AmeriCorps Program:
The AmeriCorps program at Grand Street Settlement is entering its thirteenth year and currently seeking summer volunteers from June through August, to participate in one of the most fulfilling paid internships of a lifetime. Available positions for the summer: Group Leader (age groups: K-5, 10-14, 14-18); Activity Specialists (arts & crafts, dance, drama, fashion, music production, cooking, and sports); Early Childhood Classroom Assistant/Program Aide; Youth Mentor (LGBT Program); and Technology & Media Center Clubhouse Assistant.
If you are interested in this opportunity and are at least 17 years of age or older; a U.S. citizen, National, or lawful permanent resident; can serve full time Monday through Friday with occasional weekends; and are able to commit to the program from June through August, please feel free to contact our office with any inquiries you may have regarding the application process as applications are currently being accepted.
On Wednesday May 12th from 4pm – 5pm, and Friday May 14th, the AmeriCorps program will be hosting open house sessions for Summer of Service applicants to find out more information about Grand Street Settlement’s AmeriCorps program and opportunities, meet the staff and current members, and submit applications. The May 12th open house will be held at our main location in the Lower East Side at 80 Pitt Street (F train to Delancey Street or J train to Essex Street), and the May 14th open house will be held at our Bushwick Cornerstone Community Center at 50 Humboldt Street in Brooklyn (J, M, or Z train to Flushing Avenue).
