University Settlement’s Performance Project will host a FREE concert with So Percussion tonight via Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Concert Series. Program notes state: Since coming together at the Yale School of Music in 1999, So Percussion has been creating music that is both raucous and touching, barbarous, and refined. This concert features a collaborative work with video artist Jenise Treuting called “Imaginary City,” which the group describes as a “meditation on urban life and its sounds, architecture, light, and color.” The group’s latest collaboration with the electronic duo Matmos will culminate in a new album to be released on Cantaloupe Records in summer 2010. // 7:30pm // University Settlement – corner of Eldridge Street and Rivington Street
