While you are out and about enjoying the spring sunshine this weekend, here are a few activities that promise fun for the whole family:
Stop by the New Museum this Saturday from 10a – 12p to take part in the third of four family programs dedicated to the exhibition “Skin Fruit: Selections from the Dakis Joannou Collection” curated by Jeff Koons. This month’s First Saturday For Families will explore the work of artists John Bock and Elliott Hundley, and learn how they have repurposed waste materials. Using their work for inspiration, create a work of art using discarded materials. FREE.
Then grab a pillow and your teddy bear and head to Union Square for the 5th annual NYC Pillow Fight. Hosts Newmindspace have proclaimed Saturday, April 3rd International Pillow Fight Day and pillow-flying events are being coordinated in cities around the world. // 3p // FREE
On Sunday The Museum at Eldridge Street is hosting a Passover Spectacular Family Program at 1pm. Clues placed throughout the museum will lead “detectives” to a special Passover Freedom party complete with holiday food, music, and art making. Part of the Preservation Detectives Family Program. $15 per family.
