CSA Informational Sessions Coming Up

Must Read

We’ve been talking about the new Lower East Side CSA that’s being established on East Broadway. For the uninitiated, CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members of the CSA form a relationship with a single regional farm, purchasing a certain amount of fresh produce, which is generally delivered to a central location once a week during the growing season. In this case, the CSA is working with the Monkshood Farm in upstate new York.

If the idea interests you, there are two informational sessions this month – this coming Monday and March 23rd. Both sessions will be held at 6pm, at the Educational Alliance.

The deliveries will begin in June and last for 22 weeks. A full share ($610) is approximately enough to feed a non-vegetarian family of four for the week; a half share ($310) is good for a family of 2. Anyone who would like to sign up but can’t attend those info sessions should email lescsa@gmail.com. Eventually, online registration will be available.
