NYC AIDS Housing Network, as an affiliate for ABC NoRio, is hosting "Books Through Bars", a program that donates books to prisoners in the New York penal system. They are seeking more books and donations of postage stamps in any denomination, and large catalog envelopes and supplies like packing tape and markers.  More info here.

You can catch Girlpower:
Voices of a Generation
at the CSV Cultural and Educational Center today at 5:00pm.  It's their last show in their NY International Fringe Festival run.   "An empowering, ensemble-driven collection of
words written and performed by teenagers. Through monologues and spoken
word, the young women share their perspectives on love, identity,
relationships, the future, and finding power through theater."
