This one does not come as a huge surprise. A listing has popped online for the space occupied by Ed’s Lobster Bar Annex at 25 Clinton Street. The offshoot of the Lafayette Street original opened in the summer of 2011. It is rarely busy.
The 2,000 square foot space with two bars and a backyard is for sale for $265,000. The listing says it’s a “busy watering hole location.” Restaurants and bars are, of course, always for sale “for the right price.” Sometimes owners are merely “testing the waters.” But as other establishments continue to open on Clinton Street (Pig & Khao, Yunnan Kitchen) it’s apparent Ed’s is struggling.
