East River Projects to be Discussed Tonight

State Assemblymember Brian Kavanagh’s office is getting the word out about tonight’s public meeting to discuss how a $650,000 state grant for projects along the East River should be spent. The Blueway Project is a visioning process for the waterfront, from East 38th Street — all the way down to the Brooklyn Bridge. The grant is controlled by the Manhattan Borough President. They’re open to a variety of ideas to promote greater access to the waterway. For example, the LES Ecology Center has proposed a floating swimming pool below 14th Street — to highlight the issue of water quality in the East River. The meeting takes place tonight at 630pm, on the roof of the 14th Street Y, 344 14th Street.
