Zoe Feigenbaum shuttered her eponymous restaurant at 245 Eldridge St., Tuesday night, the second restaurant to call it quits on that block this week.

On Monday, the owners of Family Recipe announced this weekend would be their last at 231 Eldridge St.

Feigenbaum tells The Lo-Down:

I got to realize my dream of owning a restaurant, and earned some money and experience doing it. Not all restaurants are iconic and get to stick around for 10 or 15 years. As a chef, timing is everything–you gotta know when to pull something out of the frying pan. I am working on my next project (details to emerge shortly) and planning a trip.

Feigenbaum opened Zoe in September 2011, scoring much critical acclaim for her New American cuisine. But she has struggled to fill seats in recent months, and earlier this year rebooted the menu to include a selection of Italian dishes. She also launched sidewalk barbecues serving casual fare this summer, hosting one on Memorial Day and one just this past Sunday for Father’s Day.

The restaurant is for sale, brokered by Julian Hitchcock. In the meantime, Feigenbaum is offering corporate and private catering this summer.
