A fire broke out tonight at Black Crescent, the restaurant and bar at 76 Clinton St. (at Rivington Street).  According to witnesses, it was an electrical fire that started in the basement. Firefighters got the blaze under control quickly; they had to knock out most, if not all, of the windows in the process. Black Crescent opened in late 2013, replacing longtime neighborhood spot Alias. The owners did a substantial renovation of the space to create an oyster and cocktail bar.
