HOT! Festival Continues to Sizzle at Dixon Place
The 20th Annual HOT! Fest continues at Dixon Place this weekend with MaDHaTters CabArEt’s: Give ‘em Fiya!, “New York City’s most talented ruckus causing queers of color bring you a night of drag, dance, song and burlesque,” tonight at 9:30p. In the Lounge at Dixon Place tonight there will be plenty of comedic performances hosted by ‘Molly “Equality” Dykeman’s Comedy Extravaganza!’
Tomorrow night on the bill – an evening of dance performance from Christian Von Howard, Alberto Denis/[QuA²D], Vincent E. Thomas, Saúl Ulerio & Joamer González.
And to top it all off, if you missed heavyweight story-teller and political activist David Mixner last week, you have one more chance to catch his one-man show, “From the Front Porch: An Evening with David Mixner,” on Monday at 7:30p. The evening promises highlights from his book, Strangers Among Friends, the story of the behind the scenes emergence of a powerful political LGBTQ civil rights movement… his eventual involvement with the election of President Clinton that led to his public opposition against the controversial decision on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”
