Police Asking for Help in Finding Lower East Side Resident

Police are asking for help finding a woman who has been missing since Tuesday afternoon. 24-year old Helen Lam has a developmental disability and she is diabetic.

Lam was last seen at the AHRC Adult Care facility on Varick Street. Channel 7 reported she used her phone at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, saying she had gotten off the train at 79th Street, that it was raining and she did not know where she was. She lives at 265 Cherry Street.

Lam is 5’2″ or 5’3′, has short black hair, weighs approximately 155 pounds and wears oval shaped glasses. She was last seen wearing light brown/beige pants and a light blue t-shirt and a dark green coat.

Lam speaks Cantonese and English but is very reticent to speak with strangers. She might be wearing an AHRC name tag around her neck.
