Jonah Bokaer & Harrison Atelier Bring U.S. Premier “Anchises” to Abrons

Must Read

Internationally acclaimed choreographer Jonah Bokaer has teamed up with the interdisciplinary design firm Harrison Atelier to produce the co-creation, Anchises. The work debuted at the newly opened Pavilion Dance in Bournemouth, UK in October, and will receive it’s U.S. premier at the Abrons Arts Center beginning tonight.  Harrison Atelier writes that the piece “gives visual and physical expression to the themes of aging, use and reuse of materials, and the role of space in determining the body’s range and potential.” Featuring an inter-generational cast of five, Anchises unfolds in nine episodes, in which sequences of duets and trios abstract and explore inter-generational tensions and loyalties. Visit the website devoted to the project here. $20, $15 students/seniors // Nov. 17th – 21st // 7:30pm // 466 Grand Street.
