Dessert Truck Makes a Brick-and-Mortar Comeback

Must Read

It was a dark day last summer when devotees of the Dessert Truck learned the city was pulling their mobile food vendor's permit. Now there's this bit of good news: we're told the company's brick-and-mortar location at 6 Clinton Street is ready to debut January 22nd.

It'll be called Dessert Truck Works (DT for short) and, according to an email message, will:

…offer the same desserts that DessertTruck customers have
come to know, such as the warm chocolate bread pudding. The menu will
also include smaller more portable items such as a signature line of
mini-whoopie pies. The cafe/pastry shop will be casual
and has a focus on quick-service and will seat about 15
people. There won't be any wait staff, silverware, table cloths or
anything like that. The philosophy behind the space is the same as
DessertTruck's: top-notch food made accessible/affordable.

Counter Culture will be supplying the coffee. Once again, the address is 6 Clinton, between Houston and Stanton. DT Works will be open from 11am-11pm (with expanded hours in the coming months).
