Beginning this coming weekend, you will be able to visit a new farm stand in the publicly accessible plaza at Essex Crossing on Broome Street.
It’s operated by an organization called Project Eats, which is running a rooftop farm as part of a neighboring Essex Crossing building (125 Delancey St. – the complex where the new Essex Market is also located). According to yesterday’s missive from Delancey Street Associates, the mega-project developers, the farm stand will be set up in the park area on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The operation will move into the Market Line, located beneath the Essex Market, in the fall. The Market Line, not yet open, will include around 30 food vendors in its first phase.
