Rooftop Films kicks off it’s annual season opener, “This is What We Mean by Short Films,” tonight at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Brooklyn, and brings “Running With Beto” to the New Design High School rooftop (entrance at 350 Grand St.) here on the Lower East Side tomorrow night.

The HBO documentary follows political candidate Beto O’Rourke’s rise from “virtual unknown to national political sensation, as he boldly attempts to unseat Ted Cruz in the U.S. Senate race in 2018.” Director David Modigliani & producer Rebecca Feferman will be in attendance for a conversation following the screening.

Rooftop Films has been screening work from emerging directors in surprising outdoor locations for over 20 years.

Most evenings start with live music and end with an after party. Tickets are $16
