Masa Ogo at New York City News Service took a look at the intersections of dumplings and ravioli along the border of the L.E.S., Chinatown and Little Italy:

Chinese and Italian cuisine both enjoy great popularity around the world; they also have an interesting similarity — dumplings and ravioli are basically the same thing. While it is difficult to compare dumplings in China and raviolis in Italy at the same time, it is quite possible to do that in the Lower East Side, where Chinatown and Little Italy are adjacent.
