Emergency workers just lifted an injured worker out of a trench that was being dug on East Broadway near Montgomery Street.
Crews have been on the scene this week to replace a water main. Shortly after 11:15 a.m., the first reports came in about the accident. Firefighters were on the scene quickly. They brought the man out on a stretcher at 11:34 a.m., and medics evaluated him on site.
