It’s been three years since chef Wylie Dufresne closed Wd-50, his acclaimed Clinton Street restaurant. While the world waits for his next big project, it seems like Dufresne is keeping a higher profile in Lower Manhattan of late.

Coming up tomorrow (Friday), he’s opening a pop-up spot at the Chefs Club Counter (62 Spring St.) It’s a version of his new small-scale venture, Du’s Donut’s & Coffee, which has been operating from the William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg. To celebrate the opening, Dufresne will be giving away mini donuts and coffee milk to the first 200 customers. The pop-up opens at 8 a.m.

On a daily basis, you can expect a rotating selection of Du’s Donuts, double berry ice cream sandwiches, coffee from Brooklyn Roasting Company and scrambled egg grilled cheese sandwiches. More grab-and-go items will be added later on. The pop-up will remain open in Soho throughout the fall.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that we spotted Dufresne on opening day at BYGGYZ, his dad’s new sandwich shop at 37 Clinton St. The savory sandwiches are Dewey Dufresne’s creations. But Wylie is supplying BYGGYZ with ice cream sandwiches made with Du’s donuts and marmalade-flavored ice cream. He also been running a Wd-50 pop-up at the Seaport.
