If you round the corner from Clinton Street Baking Company, you’ll come upon a new specialty shop called Tramezzini NYC.
The official opening was celebrated at 309 East Houston St. on Friday for the store, which touts itself as the only restaurant in the country exclusively devoted to the Venetian-style sandwiches. The New York operation was founded in 2016 and has been a regular presence at Smorgasburg.
According to a press release, the bread is brought in from Venice. Varieties include: roasted pork leg with caramelized onions and cheese, prosciutto with mozzarella and tuna with balsamic baby onions. You can read more details on Tramezzini’s website.
The shop is just a couple of doors away from the ice cream store, Wowfulls, another Smorgasburg darling, which opened in March.
