Here’s our annual message from the Grand Street CSA:

Spring is definitely in the air, and it’s almost time for summer’s fruits and vegetables! The Grand Street CSA is now accepting registrations for our 2016 summer season. This is our ninth year helping to bring locally grown organic produce to the lower east side. You can register online.  The deadline for signing up is March 15th! With a CSA, you buy a fixed-price “share” of a farm’s output at the beginning of the season, and receive a selection of their harvest once a week from the beginning of June through the beginning of November. Grand Street CSA partners with Norwich Meadows Farm in Norwich, NY and Lebanon, NJ for fresh vegetables, eggs, meat, and poultry, and fruit from Red Jacket Orchards in Geneva, NY. We also offer add-ons to the basic vegetable share, including fresh organic pasta from Brooklyn’s Sfoglini Pasta Shop, organic maple syrup from Circle C Maple Farm upstate, as well as other extras throughout the season. Weekly pick-ups are Tuesday evenings in front of Abrons Arts Center at 466 Grand St.. The summer season starts in June and runs for 22 weeks. More information about what’s offered and how much it costs can be found here.
