Some of the things happening on the Lower East Side today:

–The developers of Essex Crossing are holding a public meeting tonight to talk about construction issues and jobs at the large mixed-use site. From 6:30-7:15, they’ll update the project timeline, discuss progress at each site and address “community impacts (i.e. noise).” Then from 7:15-8 p.m., there will be information provided about the availability of construction jobs for local residents and training programs. This meeting will not cover affordable housing (updated information on applying for Essex Crossing’s 500 affordable apartments will come later). Grand Street Settlement’s community room, located at 80 Pitt St.

–Tonight from 7-11 at the Tictail Market, 90 Orchard St., there’s an exhibition called, Get Nude. Get Drawn.” It includes hundreds of pieces from several artists “created during one marathon day of nude drawings.” More info here.

–From 6-9 p.m. at Parasol Projects Gallery, there’s an opening reception for, “Nuevo Mundo – Colonization of the Americas through Abstract Landscapes.” The show includes “many larger than life scenes inspired by the highly influential book Open Viens of Latin America by Uruguayan writer, Eduardo Galeano.” 2 Rivington St.

–This evening at City Lore,  there’s a one-man show, “Alive on the Inside.” It’s Richard Eagan’s story of his experiences as a Coney Island show barker, weight guesser and game operator. You might know Eagan as co-host of the Mermaid Parade. 7 p.m., 56 East 1st St.

At the Bronx Museum tonight at 6:30 p.m., the co-curator of the ongoing Martin Wong exhibition will moderate a panel discussion “looking back at the state of downtown New York’s Lower East Side in the 1970s.” Panelists include: Benjamin Binstock, David Freeland, Lia Gangitano, and Marvin Taylor.
