Your Chance to Speak Out as City Competes For Flood Protection Funding

As you’re probably aware, the city is preparing to build a $335 million flood barrier along the East River from 23rd Street to Montgomery Street. Late last month, the mayor announced the allocation of another $100 million for flood protection in the Two Bridges area, extending to the Battery. They’re hoping to augment those funds with up to $1 billion available in a federal competition. Part of the application process involves holding two public hearings. One of them has already taken place. The second hearing happens Monday Sept. 21 at P.S. 2. You can see the details below and also learn more about the competition here.
