A 28-year-old marketing analyst lost part of her ring finger after being bitten by a police horse. Now she’s suing the city.

Pernilla Ekberg had been partying inside Max Fish, the bar at 120 Orchard St, last November. According to the Daily News, she asked for permission from a mounted officer to pet the horse. Ekberg reached out and that’s when “it chomped down on her hand, bit off the tip and spit it out on the floor,” said Ekberg’s lawyer, Eliot Bickoff.

The attorney claims the officer “panicked and ran away.” The woman’s boyfriend put the finger tip in water and Ekberg was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, but doctors couldn’t make her finger whole again.

The city law department says it’s still studying the lawsuit.
