There was a lot of interest in this past weekend’s story concerning a brawl at the Rutgers Houses during a kids’ holiday party. As the New York Post reported Saturday, three women were arrested after another woman was bloodied with a cane. We have a few more details this afternoon from police, who were called to the Rutgers community center.
According to officers investigating the incident, three women were standing in front of 200 Madison St. Saturday. They were asked to move to clear the exit ramp of the building. The women took offense and reportedly began yelling obscenities at the woman who made the request. The suspects began pulling the victim’s hair and punching her. One of them then bashed her in the face with a cane, causing a cut to her forehead. Police say the suspects fled for the train station down the street at Rutgers and Madison, but police caught up with them and took the women into custody.
All three were charged with felony assault.
