If you’re looking for a place to keep cool while enjoying some sunny summer weather, look no further than Hamilton Fish Pool, located on the corner of Pitt and Houston streets. Â
The historic facility, which features two large in-ground swimming pools, is set to open for the season this Friday, the 27th, along with all other New York City pools, and will remain open until Labor Day.
We stopped by the pool Tuesday to learn a little bit more about the coming season, and talked to pool supervisor Josh Juarbe. He told us that Hamilton Fish will be hosting a 5-boro swim meet this coming August, on top of providing daily fun for families, children, and solo swimmers.  But whether you’re looking to practice your breaststroke or are just desperate to cool off, this neighborhood pool provides an enjoyable and free opportunity to do both.  Grab your floaties, some sunscreen, and a towel–summer’s finally here!
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the pool during past summers, we’ve got the weekday schedule here for your reference, confirmed directly with Hamilton Fish staff.
- Open Swim: 11:00 AM-3:00 PM
- Intermission: 3:00-4:00 PM
- Open Swim: 4:00-7:00 PM
**Early and Late Lap Swims (8-9 AM and 7-8 PM respectively) will begin in a few weeks
