Is Max Fish Coming Back to the LES? CB3 Agenda Offers Some Clues

There’s some big news from Community Board 3’s just-released April liquor agenda docket.  According to the agenda (and confirmed by CB3’s office), Ulli Rimkus, owner of the legendary Lower East Side bar, Max Fish, is applying for a permit in the Gallery Bar space at 120 Orchard St.

Max Fish was a fixture on Ludlow Street from 1989 until its closure last summer.  Rimkus planned to open a new spot in Williamsburg, but earlier this year word got out that she had shifted her attention back to the LES.  Several applicants have tried and failed in their bids for licenses at 120 Orchard. Just this week, Sweet Chick got approval from the state for a license in the old Max Fish space.

One other item we’ll highlight: a restaurant and bar proposal for 1 Ludlow St.  We previewed this one last week.

See the full agenda below.
