Here’s something for small business owners who have struggled to secure conventional loans. Tomorrow evening, there will be a presentation at Community Board 3’s economic development committee from UBS Community Affairs. The global finance firm, in partnership with California-based Valley Economic Development Center, is sponsoring a $20 million Tri-State Business Opportunity Fund. The loans (typically ranging from $50,000-$250,000) are meant to provide promising small businesses with working capital. Interest rates generally are set between 6-8%. The program also provides small business mentoring and networking. If you’d like more information, you can click here for a fact sheet. Tomorrow night’s meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Village View Community Room, 175 East 4th Street.
