Lo-Down contributor Holly Ferrari sent along this photo from the corner of Essex and Delancey of what would appear to be Banksy’s “All City – McDonalds.”
The performance piece is described on the artist’s site as “a fibreglass replica of Ronald McDonald having his shoes shined by a real live boy,” and it is visiting different McDonalds locations this week.
Ferrari said it was causing quite a commotion and the cops came and broke it up. The “giant Ronald” then walked up Essex Street. Another Lo-Down contributor Bahram Foroughi caught the end of the scene and sent along this excellent shot. Foroughi said, “cops showed up in force and the guys fled… glad I got to see it though only briefly. Police presence was huge. Five cop cars, at least a dozen cops.” He hastagged his photo on tumbler: #banksy #imagesforyoursenses #LES #lowereastside #nypd #please #leave #banksy #alone.
