Police Seek Armed Suspect After Henry Street Cell Phone Robbery

Police are asking for help from the public in finding an armed suspect who’s been swiping cell phones in Lower Manhattan.  The most recent incident happened on the Lower East Side.

They released security camera video from Henry Street near Jefferson.  At about 11 a.m. on August 9, the suspect approached a 19-year old victim and demanded her phone. The victim handed it over and he fled.

On the same day, just an hour earlier,  a 16-year-old boy was robbed on Franklin Street.  And on August 2nd, a 25-year-old man was threatened with a razor blade and a gun inside his Greenwich Village apartment building.

Police say the suspect is a black male between the ages of 17 and 25, standing approximately 5-foot-6 to 6-feet tall and weighing 140 to 150 pounds.
