Health inspectors ordered the closure June 28 – this past Friday.  The report noted “evidence of rats” and indicated that”food contact surfaces (were) not properly washed.”  They also indicated that the food preparation facilities were not “vermin proof.”  Foundation received 42 violation points. In the most recent inspection before this past week’s visit – last summer – the venue got 28 violation points.

The names listed on Foundation’s liquor license are Joe Torres and Eric Majia. It’s not up for renewal until March of next year.  In 2011, the lounge/dance club was one of many Lower East Side venues caught up in the 7th Precinct’s underage drinking crackdown.
