Police are asking for help in tracking down a suspect wanted in an attempted robbery this past weekend on the Lower East Side. The incident happened Saturday night around 9:55 at the Hilltop Grocery/Bodega at 535 Grand Street (Henry).
According to police, the suspect hit an employee and tried to take money from the cash register. He fled without swiping the money. They describe him as a black male between the ages of 25-30. He’s tall, somewhere between 6’3″ and 6’5″ and was wearing a black leather jacket, brown hoodie, black hat and blue jeans. See the security camera video posted above.
