From time to time, we like to check in on the terminally stalled East River Park reconstruction project. Recently, the Pile Foundation barge that had been anchored in the river, just south of the Williamsburg Bridge, disappeared.
Good news?
Not necessarily. The path along the waterfront is still very much-unfinished, as this photo shot this morning indicates. There was no work crew in sight. The Parks Department web site still advises:
In fairness, winter doesn’t begin until December 22nd, so there’s still hope! But given the history of this troubled project, we are not super optimistic.
