Raquy and the Cavemen

Sephardic chef Jennifer Abadi, author of the award-winning cookbook, Fistful of Lentils, will present a Mimouna food tasting party on Wednesday evening at Kush Lounge on Chrystie St. at 9:00pm. Hosts REBOOT write, “Mimouna is a Jewish-Moroccan celebration that marks the end of Passover and the return to eating carbs. For centuries, Moroccan Jews wandered from home to home on Mimouna enjoying festive meals (think crepes dipped in honey) and lively musical performances celebrating peace and good-fortune with their Muslim and Christian neighbors. Today, Mimouna is celebrated all over the world from Tel Aviv to Paris and now, NYC.” There will be drumming by Raquy and the Cavemen and a special appearance by the Hebrew Mamita Vanessa Hidary. Moroccan beats will be spun by DJ Joroboro. $10.
