Maybe those MTA hearings weren’t so pointless after all. The MTA announced yesterday weekend service on the M22, running from Battery Park City to the LES, will not be eliminated. Another change impacting commuters in this neighborhood: the M train will replace the V, and, “at its first Manhattan stop, Essex Street, the train would take over the V’s route and travel north to the Forest Hills-71st Avenue stop in Queens.
