Invitation to Apply for East River Waterfront Grant

Must Read

Karen Overton from Partnership for Parks asked us to help spread the word that applications are being accepted for the Catalyst East River Park Grant. Here’s the info:

This Catalyst grant will support an event in East River Park that promotes public health, active use of the park and/or volunteerism.  “Get Ready…Get Set…Get Active!” Day in East River Park will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010. Grants will support recreational, educational, and waterfront activities at this event that meet these goals. Potential projects include, but are not limited to, fitness projects involving biking, walking, yoga, tai chi, dance, etc.; waterfront- specific activities such as water ecology workshops;  neighborhood tours that connect residents to local history and to the park; and volunteer projects like gardening, tree care, and ball field maintenance. Projects with the potential to be replicated or to become regular park programs will receive preference. Between five and ten grants will be awarded, ranging from $500 to $1,000.
