169 Bar is not the dive it once was but you’ll be forgiven for thinking not much has changed since the old days.  The pool table is still in the back room, a disco ball and tinsel hangs from the ceiling and you can still get a can of beer and a shot for 3 bucks. But in addition to the bowls of shell-on peanuts scattered  about, you’ll find a raw bar!  There are oysters on the half shell but in keeping with owner Charles Hanson’s New Orleans upbringing, you’ll also find some Crescent City classics.  Some examples: oyster and shrimp po’ boy sliders, spicy blue crab legs and grilled oysters.  If you’re lucky, you might even be able to sneak out to the backyard in nice weather.
