Political Memorabilia Show on Grand Street

Saint Mary Church

440 Grand Street
New York, NY 10002
USA

Super Bowl Sunday, February 5th will be special for a new reason this year.  The Seward Park High School Alumni Association is teaming with the Big Apple Chapter of the American Political Items Collectors for a political memorabilia show and sale on Manhattan's Lower East Side.  Whether you are interested in old political buttons, posters, or anything political you will probably find it at this show.

Some of the biggest political memorabilia dealers in the northeast will be descending upon the newly renovated Grand Hall of St. Mary's Church at 440 Grand Street from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.  St. Mary's, New York City's second oldest Roman Catholic structure (only St. Patrick's Old Cathedral is older), is the perfect location for an event which will feature political items from the 19th century to the present.

Whether you want to browse or buy, this is your opportunity.  Admission is only $3.00.  The church is located on Grand Street between Pitt and Clinton Streets (just a short walk from the Delancey Street subway stop).  In addition, the Seward Park High School Alumni Association will feature a display of school memorabilia.  Seward operated just up the street on Grand Street from 1929 to 2006.  The building now operates as the Seward Park campus for five separate smaller high schools which maintain a close relationship with Seward's alumni association.

This is the only political memorabilia show scheduled in the five boroughs this year.  According to Big Apple Chapter president Tony Lee, "The APIC-sponsored shows held throughout the U.S. each year are alive with members buying, selling and trading all types of political campaign memorabilia.  Your first experience at one of these shows will feel like a kid in a candy store as soon as you walk in.  You will see more vintage, authentic political material in one room than you will find in a lifetime of searching antique shops and flea markets."
