Find A Quirky Turkey And A Terrific Tale Of Giving Thanks

A new tradition for fans of Fiddler on the Roof! The show is back on Broadway and we're celebrating Tevye and turkeys on Eldridge Street! Preservation Detectives make fiddle shaped challah, fiddler art,  and belt out those fabulous Fiddler tunes during a fun family sing-along.  A fun filled scavenger hunt reveals a special Thanksgiving story of giving thanks on Eldridge Street - not to mention a few feathers and a well hidden turkey! All this, plus prizes, surprises, and a rousing Fiddler sing- along with musicians Kathleen Fletcher and Julian Mesri. How's that for Tradition! Reservations Required.

Tevye and the Great Turkey Scavenger Hunt is part of the Museum at Eldridge Street's special series of fall programs inspired by the show's 2015 Broadway revival. As Fiddler fans know, Tevye is leaving Anatevka at the end of the musical, and setting out for America, specifically New York, America. In real life, most Jewish immigrants headed this way at the turn of the last century. So many settled on New York's Lower East Side, that one clever writer dubbed this neighborhood the Jewish Plymouth Rock.
