A dramatic reading from playwright/performer Alvin Eng's memoir that chronicles growing up in the shadows of the Cold War in a 1970s Chinese hand laundry in Flushing, Queens, to performing his one-man show, "The Last Emperor of Flushing," in English in a former People's Hall of the Cultural Revolution in his family's ancestral Guangdong province.

Part of "What We Bring" City Lore's programming on the 50th anniversary of Immigration Reform Act of 1965.
