Hamilton Fish Pool Opens For the Season Tomorrow!

Take the kids to the Hamilton Fish pool this weekend.

New York City’s outdoor pools re-open tomorrow, including Hamilton Fish Pool on Pitt St. and Houston St. The Olympic-sized, local favorite is open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a break for pool cleaning between 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Lap swims are from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for early birds and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for night owls in July and at dusk from August through Labor Day. A free t-shirt is up for grabs for participants who swim 25 miles or more over the summer and prizes are awarded to the top three male and female distance swimmers from each pool program.

Registrations for lap swims are available online through September 2. If you do not have access to a computer or have trouble finding the application online, forms are available at the lap swim pool site during lap swim program hours. Free swimming lessons are also available throughout the summer and numerous special programs which can be found here.

Good news as we prepare for more high temperatures over the weekend — New York City’s outdoor pools open today! The Olympic size Hamilton Fish Pool at 128 Pitt St. (just below Houston) will be open  from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a break for pool cleaning between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The popular Adult Lap Swim will begin on Thursday, July 5th and is offered both mornings and evenings from 7:00 – 8:30.  This year swimmers can register online to participate in the annual outdoor lap swim program. If you swim 30 miles or more over the summer you’ll receive a free 30th anniversary t-shirt, and prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female distance swimmers at each pool program.
