Police are looking for help in finding a man who attacked a woman on the Lower East Side yesterday. It happened at around 3 a.m. (Saturday into Sunday), when the victim was followed into the LaGuardia Houses on Cherry Street. According to police, the suspect got in an elevator with a 23-year old woman and tried to rape her. The victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, treated and released. The man is believed to be about 5’7″ tall and around 30 years old. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a plaid shirt, jeans and a knit hat. Police are asking for help in tracking down a suspect wanted in an attempted robbery this past weekend on the Lower East Side. The incident happened Saturday night around 9:55 at the Hilltop Grocery/Bodega at 535 Grand Street (Henry).
According to police, the suspect hit an employee and tried to take money from the cash register. He fled without swiping the money. They describe him as a black male between the ages of 25-30. He’s tall, somewhere between 6’3″ and 6’5″ and was wearing a black leather jacket, brown hoodie, black hat and blue jeans. See the security camera video posted above.

Police are asking for help in tracking down three suspects accused of beating up a cab driver after refusing to pay their fare. The incident happened Saturday, December 1, at about 4:10 a.m. near Grand and Lewis streets.
The driver picked up the suspects a few minutes earlier at Allen and East Houston streets. Police say the suspects punched the 42-year old cab driver repeatedly, seriously injuring him. They also stole his cell phone. The driver said they took off on Grand Street, heading west.

Police are looking for help in finding a suspect who pulled out a gun on a 73-year old man in a building on Cherry Street last month. The gunman, believed to be in his 20’s, followed the man into an elevator and asked for money. He ran off when the man said he had nothing to give.
The suspect is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds. He was wearing a long black hooded coat at the time of the attempted robbery. The incident happened at 300 Cherry Street, inside the LaGuardia public housing complex, near Rutgers Street.

Police are asking for help in tracking down a suspect who punched a woman in the face and then stole her purse on the Lower East Side Tuesday. He followed the woman, who is in her mid-20’s, into a building at 50 Allen St (between Grand and Hester), at around 4:20 in the afternoon. The suspect, caught on surveillance video, is thought to be in his mid-30’s. He was wearing a white shirt, jeans and white shows. Police are looking for help in tracking down a suspect accused of swiping two purses from Arlene’s Grocery, 95 Stanton Street, in early August. According to the Post, the woman was booted from the music club on August 7 because she was drunk. She apparently “made a scene” before moving on to another music club, Piano’s, around the corner on Ludlow Street.
Two women reported their purses had been stolen. They had been hanging on hooks beneath the bar. Police say the suspect is 25 years old. They believe she took at least one purse, a cell phone, a wallet, cash and credit cards. The still image posted above was captured by a surveillance camera at Piano’s at around 1 a.m.
