Neighborhood resident samolicious sends evidence that the Collete Blanchard Gallery has closed shop at 28 Clinton Street.  It was a gorgeous gallery space and we enjoyed many of her shows.  (see our video with Derek Adams here.)  Ms. Blanchard sent out a press release last week explaining that she will soon be based in Paris:

Collette Blanchard Gallery is pleased to announce that it will depart from its New York City address to explore new opportunities and collaborations that will further challenge the structures of the traditional for-profit gallery.  It will do so through CBG Projects, a faction of the gallery program that was conceived in the Winter of 2009 with Derrick Adams’s performance project, Bizzaro Wiz.

Weekend Guide

Whimsical illustrator, live performer, VJ and videographer Shantell Martin‘s Project InsideOut OutsideIn, is at the Collette Blanchard Gallery through May 22nd.  Along with her show, Martin will be performing in collaboration with live bands, a cellist and a violinist, starting with “Drive In Theater” on Saturday at 6pm and “Person Line Drawings” on Sunday at 2pm.
