Before the weekend, we put up some photos from the Essex Street Market, where artist/activist Ai Weiwei installed one of the site specific pieces for his enormous Good Fences Make Good Neighbors exhibition.  Now a friend of The Lo-Down sends along images from 248 Bowery, where another part of the project is in-the-works.

This piece is located right next to the International Center of Photography’s museum. The fence being constructed rests above a three story building dating to the early 1800s. This first photo was shot from behind the wall, facing to the east.

The exhibition debuts on Thursday with more than 300 works across the city. This collaboration with the Public Art Fund is meant to raise awareness of the global refugee crisis.
