Back in 2018, we first told you about plans for two new 100% affordable buildings on land owned by the Grand Street Guild. Now renderings have emerged showing what the 15 and 16 story towers will look like.
The drawings are a part of an Environmental Assessment Statement submitted to the Department of City Planning. The project is now in public review, which will include a stop at Community Board 3 later this year. The developers are seeking modifications to the Seward Park Extension East Large‐Scale Residential Development Area.
The first building at 165 Broome St. (corner of Clinton and Broome streets) will cover 235,235 square feet and include 235 apartments. The second building, at 151 Broome (at Pitt Street), will be 174,000 square feet and include 245 apartments, as well as community space.
Grand Street Guild is a not-for-profit organization formed by the Archdiocese of New York. The residential complex currently includes three 26-story towers with 600 apartments.
