The Hester Street Fair opens its Holiday Gift Shop this evening from 5-9pm at 22 Ludlow St. The shop features creators and collectors from around the neighborhood, with special guest “Helen with the Gold Teeth” on hand this evening, doing measurements for custom gold teeth.
You’ll find “handmade and vintage clothes from artists and fashion lovers, jewelry, books, hats, prints, drawings, zines, holiday cards, skateboards and more.”
The storefront features Dawn’s Thrift Store, which is made up of local comedian/performance artist Sam Puglia’s own thrift and donated clothes and items sold at low prices. 80% of proceeds go to Destination Tomorrow LGBTQ+ Youth Center in the Bronx.
The gift shop is open daily through Dec. 11.
Additionally, HSF hosts its Classic Holidy Market at 389 Grand Street (near the Christmas Tree stand). Each weekend, different vendors will bring in treats from the neighborhood, starting with Kossar’s Bagels this weekend.
