Good morning! Activists on the Lower East Side are gearing up for today’s City Council hearing on the East Side Coastal Resiliency Plan. They’re opposing the city’s scheme to demolish and rebuild the park (including the bandshell) in the name of resiliency. The Subcommittee on Landmarks, Sitings and Dispositions meets at 1 p.m. at 250 Broadway. Members of a group called East River Park ACTION plan a noon rally at City Hall to deliver thousands of petitions in opposition to the plan.
